Bailey Hollow Road Bridge Replacement

Project Summary

The new bridge design utilized a 37-ft. clear span, three-sided precast concrete sectionalized box culvert, with continuous cast-in-place reinforced concrete pedestal foundations over reinforced concrete shallow base footings. Deeply driven steel sheet piling served as stream side foundation formwork and permanent scour protection. A proprietary precast concrete retaining wall system with reinforced cast-in-place center webs serve as wing walls at each of the four embankments which were armored with heavy stone fill. The project also utilized corrugated three beam bridge rail guide rail systems.
