The new bridge design utilized a 20 feet clear span three-sided precast concrete sectionalized box culvert with continuous cast-in-place reinforced concrete pedestal foundations over reinforced concrete shallow base footings. Deeply driven steel sheet piling served as stream side foundation formwork and permanent scour protection. A proprietary precast concrete retaining wall system with reinforced cast-in-place center webs serve as wing walls at each of the four embankments which were armored with heavy stone fill. The Project also utilized corrugated Thrie-Beam bridge rail guide rail systems with corrugated W-Beam transitions.
